Who We Are

The methods we use have been tested and refined for decades. ERP for OCD. CPT for trauma. Exposure-based CBT for anxiety.

Therapy here is collaborative and focused. We take your concerns seriously, ask direct questions, and work with you to understand what has been keeping the problem in place.

You may come in with a clear concern, or only a sense that something has felt off for a long time. Either is enough reason to start.

Samia Qadri

Founder, Apex Therapy

Samia Qadri, the founder, holds master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and in Higher Education, and is a PhD candidate whose research focuses on the mother-infant bond. She has advanced clinical training in the treatment of OCD, and is a certified ERP therapist by the University of Pennsylvania. Additional training comes from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavior Therapy and the Oxford Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma.

Samia’s style is human first, while still very much grounded in clinical training and evidence-based treatment. She cares deeply about using interventions that work. She believes in careful, intentional assessment (different from diagnosing symptoms alone). It’s more about truly collaborating with her clients to understand how they see the world, what experiences shape their perception, and what patterns keep them stuck.

Clients often experience Samia as down-to-earth, warm, and direct.

“Despite how serious and important this work is to me, I’d say therapy with me does not feel cold or formal. I believe, when appropriate, the lighter moments in therapy are just as important in healing.”

— Samia

Tara, Therapist at Apex Therapy

Tara Pruden

Senior Clinician, Apex Therapy

Tara, Senior Clinician at Apex Therapy, is a licensed professional counselor and a certified clinical trauma professional. She has over 15 years of experience in the field. Throughout her career, she has worked with individuals who have experienced childhood trauma, anxiety, attachment disorders, and other related stressors. Her primary philosophy revolves around the idea of building resilience in her clients and fostering that feeling of empowerment from within.

“I’ve been incredibly privileged to gain insight from each individual I’ve worked with, and to learn the importance of collaborating with my clients. I have a genuine understanding and a deep respect for the physical, mental, and emotional toll clients experience while engaging in the therapeutic process.”

— Tara

Within this understanding, she emphasizes that the therapeutic process must be a safe place. From her perspective, healing from trauma and anxiety is not a matter of sheer will, or positive thinking. Body awareness and the body’s ability to regulate and calm the nervous system is where the true power lies.
